Meet the Alpacas
Alpacas are South American camelids and smaller cousins of the Llama, with its banana-shaped ears. Alpaca fleece is gorgeously soft and fluffy, is incredibly tactile, and can be spun into yarn that weaves the most silky, warm and lustrous fabric for clothing.
As well as their fluffy appeal, Alpacas have a kind and curious nature and are deeply intrigued by humans, making them convivial companions.
Alpaca Walking Experience...
90 minutes
£35.00 per person,
£45.00 for two people sharing one alpaca
After a short discussion to learn a little more about these amazing creatures, you will set off to meet the alpacas and then walk with your alpaca on a lead-rope around the fields of our farm at a relaxed pace to suit you. The walk is led by a member of our team.
Our walking group sizes are limited to six alpacas (max 10 people).
Alpacas walk very slowly, and like to stay with the group, allowing plenty of time for photos.
At the end you’ll have a chance to chat and ask more questions now that you’ve got to know your alpaca.
Our Alpaca Experiences last a minimum of 90 minutes and cost £35.00 per person, or £45.00 for two people sharing one alpaca. Walks start at varying times - but during the summer months we start walks earlier in the morning so that the alpacas aren’t walking at the hottest part of the day.
Gift vouchers are available.
If you wanted to finish off your experience with a treat, we also offer a cream tea for £6.50 per person.
Alpacas are curious and endearing animals, however they are easily spooked by ‘excitable’ children - please consider whether your child will be calm enough to be in close contact with the animals; we want it to be a special and relaxing experience for both you and our alpacas.
Children have to be 10 years old to walk their own alpaca; under 10's (but over 5) can share an alpaca with a responsible adult. We don't recommend the Walking Experience for children under 5 who cannot be carried in a backpack/baby carrier.
Please Note:
Advance booking is essential.
Alpacas don't like walking in heavy rain, so rebooking may be required: the alpacas' welfare is our priority.
Please wear suitable clothing, especially footwear suitable for walking in wet grass or mud.
Sorry STRICTLY no dogs are allowed
